STMX Surges Following Launch of Global Shop Directory; Telegram Integrates TON Crypto Wallet for 800 Million Users

Telegram has integrated a crypto wallet based on The Open Network (TON) blockchain, nearly three years after announcing plans to develop a Web3 ecosystem. The wallet is available to Telegram's 800 million users, except in the U.S. and a few other countries. The announcement led to a 7% increase in the price of Toncoin. TON Foundation stated that projects built on their blockchain would get priority access to Telegram's advertising platform. The integration comes after Telegram had to sever its relationship with TON in 2020 due to a lawsuit from the U.S. SEC over its $1.7 billion ICO. With the renewed partnership, TON Foundation aims to build Web3 infrastructure and facilitate easier crypto access for Telegram users.
