Is P2P on Bybit secure?
Once a buy order is submitted, the amount of coin specified will be reserved on the P2P platform. This means that if the seller doesn’t release the coin within 10 minutes after receiving the payment, our Customer Support has the right to release the coin from the reserved funds to the buyer after verification.
If you’re a seller, please make sure you’ve received the funds from the buyer before releasing your coin.
Can I use someone else's payment account for P2P Trading?
No. We only accept a payment account with the same name as your Identity Verification on Bybit.

Why was my purchased coin in P2P locked for 24 hours?
Depending on your account’s security status, the asset locking strategy provides a 1-24 hours buffer against potential loss of user assets due to illegal funding, such as money laundering activities on the platform, to the greatest extent possible. It reduces the risk of bank accounts being frozen and ensures a secure trading environment for users.
During the asset locking period, buyers cannot withdraw or sell coins deposited through recent P2P transactions until the time is reached. For example, if you initially have 100 USDT in your Funding Account and buy 200 USDT through P2P trading, the actual amount of assets under the asset lock strategy is 200 USDT. As a result, you can only withdraw the initial 100 USDT deposit, and the remaining 200 USDT will remain in your account.
Can I choose the verification method for my P2P transaction?
Currently, the verification switching function can only be used to release coins on the Bybit App and is only available for certain users. If you are not able to see this function, please proceed with the verification according to the required method.

Can I use a Passkey to complete all verification steps in P2P Trading?
Currently, Passkey verification is only supported for coin release and order creation in P2P Trading. For other actions, such as posting ads, you will need to use alternative verification methods like email, SMS, or 2FA code.

Why was I requested to complete facial verification during P2P transaction?
To enhance security and prevent fraud, platforms often require additional verification steps, especially for significant transactions. Facial verification might be triggered when placing a P2P/Block Trade orders or posting an advertisement.
Why can't I find Order Chat Box messages that are older than one year?

Why is P2P Trading restricted on my account?
If your P2P trading access is restricted, we will usually inform you of the reason through email or in-app notification, which you can refer to for more details. Below are some common reasons for such restrictions:
- Your account has triggered Risk Review as we have detected some suspicious trading behaviour that could indicate a security risk.
- It has been determined that the trading activity on your account contravened Bybit’s rules and violated the P2P Terms of User Service. As a result, your account has been temporarily or permanently suspended from P2P trading.
- There was a change in your account security settings — such as updating your phone number, password, or Google Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), etc. — which will automatically trigger a temporary 24-hour restriction for security reasons.
Why can't I withdraw or sell my assets?
If you are unable to withdraw your assets, we will usually notify you of the reason via email or an in-app notification, which you can check for more details. Below are some common reasons why withdrawal functions may be restricted on your account:
1. T+1 Withdrawal Restriction
Depending on your account's security status, an asset locking strategy may apply a 1-24 hour buffer to help prevent potential losses from illegal funding (e.g.,money laundering). This reduces the risk of bank account freezes and helps maintain a secure trading environment. During the locking period, assets received from recent P2P purchases cannot be withdrawn or sold until the lock expires. For example, if you have 100 USDT and purchased 200 USDT via P2P, only the 200 USDT is locked. You may withdraw the original 100 USDT, while the 200 USDT remains temporarily unavailable.
2. Asset Lock related to Ongoing Appeal
If there is an ongoing appeal on your account, assets involved will be temporarily locked and cannot be withdrawn. Once it is fully resolved, you will be able to withdraw the available assets.
3. Asset lock related to Unresolved Dispute
If a disputable amount remains unsettled during an appeal, withdrawal will remain restricted. You will only be able to withdraw assets after a mutual agreement or resolution is reached with the counterparty.
4. 90-Day Freeze for Fraud-Flagged Activity
If your trading activity is flagged as fraudulent, the deposit will be frozen for an additional 90 days after compensation is made to the counterparty. During this period, the deposit cannot be withdrawn or used. You may apply to unfreeze the deposit once the 90-day period ends.
