What Is Unizen (ZCX)?

Unizen (ZCX) is a cryptocurrency exchange that aggregates the best trade deals from a number of the leading centralized and decentralized platforms. The project markets itself as a hybrid CeDeFi (centralized decentralized finance) platform that creates a seamless user experience with deeper liquidity and reduced slippage.

Unizen sources deals from the Binance exchange, one of the largest centralized exchanges (CEXs) in the world, via Binance Cloud, a technology platform that allows apps to access liquidity on Binance.

Additionally, Unizen sources deals and liquidity from several decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols: Uniswap (UNI), PancakeSwap (CAKE), Curve.fi (CRV), QuickSwap (QUICK) and SpookySwap (BOO). Unizen is one of very few platforms that combine access to liquidity from both CEX and decentralized exchange (DEX) sources.

Unizen is used by individual traders, companies and DeFi apps to source optimal swap rates from a variety of sources. The Unizen exchange provides not only good coin swap deals, but opportunities to access staking and liquidity provision on the platforms to which it maintains connections.

ZCX is the native ERC-20 token of Unizen. It can be converted to the BEP-20 standard via various Unizen-supported bridges.

Unizen (ZCX) Price

ZCX was launched in April 2021, initially trading at around $3. It spent its first few months on the market trading between $1.10 and $3.80. From July 2021, Unizen’s price started growing confidently, reaching to around $7 by mid-October 2021.

The ZCX price began its multi-month decline around late October 2021, dropping to $0.20 by early August 2022. From then on, the token’s price has stabilized at levels between $0.10 and $0.20.

What Is ZCX Used For?

ZCX has several important functions on the Unizen platform. One of these is governance: ZCX token holders can vote to decide on any changes to the protocol. As a utility token, ZCX is used for multi-asset staking and liquidity mining on Unizen. Staking ZCX also allows you to participate in the early-stage investment into ZenX Labs launchpad projects.

If you hold ZCX tokens in Unizen’s CEX module, ZCX ownership also gives you discounts on trading fees. The CEX module sources deals and liquidity from Binance.

ZCX Tokenomics

ZCX’s initial total and max supply were specified at 1 billion tokens. However, ZCX has a regular burn mechanism built into its functionality. For every paid listing on the Unizen CEX module, some amount of ZCX is burned. Due to this process, the token’s real total supply is lower than the initially specified 1 billion.

Who Is the Founder of Unizen?

Unizen was founded as a Liechtenstein-based entity by Tom Sweeney and Brandon Dallmann. Sweeney is the project’s Chief Operating Officer. Dallmann was Unizen’s Chief Marketing Officer, but has stepped down from that role. He still maintains an association with the project as its strategist.
