A 17-year-old Canadian, Trenton Johnston, has been sentenced to 25 months in prison for conspiracy to commit money laundering after stealing approximately $13 million in cryptocurrency. Johnston and an accomplice allegedly drained 185 $BTC from a California victim. The scheme unraveled when investigators discovered Johnston openly bragging about the thefts and demonstrating his methods via Discord screen-sharing. The stolen funds were reportedly liquidated into a lavish lifestyle, including a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, two BMWs, private jet rentals, luxury jewelry, and Miami nightlife. Authorities apprehended Johnston in March 2026 while he was riding in a Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
