Plasma (XPL), launched on September 25, 2025, is a Layer 1 blockchain built for stablecoins, combining Bitcoin security with Ethereum flexibility. Plasma debuted with $2 billion in stablecoin liquidity from 100+ DeFi partners after raising $373 million in a public sale, making it the 8th largest blockchain by stablecoin liquidity. Ripple has acquired digital wallet and custody firm Palisade to expand its crypto custody and payments offerings. Palisade’s wallet-as-a-service technology, featuring multi-party computation and multi-chain support, will be integrated into Ripple Custody and Ripple Payments. The deal follows Ripple’s billion-dollar acquisitions of Hidden Road and GTreasury earlier this year, as the firm accelerates its institutional services after resolving its four-year SEC lawsuit in August.
