Bybuddies First: Bybit Prioritizes Staff Safety and Operational Resilience Amid Rising Regional Tension
Mar 3, 2026

In response to the recent current geopolitical flare-up in the Middle East, Bybit has announced a comprehensive suite of measures to better protect and support its employees in the United Arab Emirates while  seamless trading operations globally.

With teams based in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Bybit has moved swiftly since Saturday to  reach out to its local employees and preemptively fortify its trading platform and corresponding failover systems. The company has activated business continuity protocols (BCP) across all UAE-based offices and personnels, signaling a proactive approach to employee welfare and operational stability.

Despite the security challenges across the Middle East, Bybit’s platform and systems remain fully operational, with core trading functionality and user asset security unaffected by regional developments.

Employee Safety is Paramount

Introducing daily management follow-up mechanisms and tasking business leaders with reaching out to employees in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Bybit’s leadership teams are laser-focused on the safety and well-being of all Bybuddies.

Leading the company's employee welfare response, Bybit's Co-CEO Helen Liu has been working alongside Human Resources and Administration teams to ensure every team member's safety and wellbeing. Bybit has implemented procedures to confirm employee’s personal safety, issuing real-time location and emergency contact surveys to all UAE-based staff to maintain real-time visibility of employee status.

Bybit is also taking additional checks and steps catering to employees in particularly sensitive locations.

  • A dedicated team stands ready to assist employees living near airports or potentially sensitive areas with relocation support.

  • Comprehensive medical and welfare assistance to employees requiring specialized support is in place to help any Bybuddy affected by the recent developments.

  • Arrangements have been made for three categories of staff members: employees currently stationed in the UAE; UAE-based employees currently stranded abroad; and global staff with previous plans to travel or relocate to the UAE.

Each group will receive the support they need and accommodation or travel arrangements will be in place with their well-being as the priority.

A Platform Built to Endure

Beyond employee welfare, Bybit has simultaneously activated business continuity protocols across its operations. Each critical role in the UAE now has a designated responsible alternate, ensuring that no function becomes a single point of failure. The company has initiated cross-regional failover support mechanisms to guarantee uninterrupted business operations regardless of local circumstances.

Further, Bybit's Dubai and Abu Dhabi business locations are equipped with power backup systems capable of sustaining operations in the event of emergencies.

With a global and decentralized infrastructure already in place, Bybit has strengthened remote work system stability and reinforced data security safeguards, allowing seamless operations from multiple locations if needed.

Co-CEO Helen Liu: Vision Comes with Responsibilities

For Bybit, this moment reinforces that true resilience isn't about avoiding challenges; it is about preparedness and proactiveness.

Bybit's comprehensive response demonstrates the company's commitment to its three key stakeholders: employees, users, and the broader crypto community. By addressing employee safety head-on while strengthening operational infrastructure, the exchange sends a clear message that it is prepared for uncertainty and change.

"The safety and welfare of Bybuddies have always been our top priority. Following the recent developments, we immediately activated our BCP response mechanism, with management personally confirming the status of each UAE-based employee while our administration team coordinates necessary support. Whether it's remote work arrangements, travel approvals, or emergency contact protocols, we want our team to be confident that Bybit stands with them at all times," said Helen Liu, Co-CEO of Bybit.

"As a global platform, we have a business continuity plan in place to ensure contingency arrangements for all critical positions and services, and maintain our systems' operational stability. Come what may, we remain committed to transparent communication to help our staff and users navigate the current situation. Bybit aims to keep open communication flowing and convey our confidence to our users and the entire trading community through public AMAs and continuous updates. True long-termism is not something we only switch on in growth mode, but the way we shoulder our responsibility toward our employees, customers, and community."

In these challenging times, Bybit stands firmly alongside its employees, customers, and the communities it serves across the UAE. With its global headquarters at the heart of Dubai, the company remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting its people and strengthening the bonds that connect them to their home.
