Traditional financial markets run on a schedule. Bybit TradFi Perpetuals do not. Gold does not close at 5 PM. An equity index move triggered by a weekend headline will not wait for Monday morning. TradFi Perpetuals on Bybit give you 24/7 access to traditional markets — gold, stocks, forex and more — from your existing account, with no separate platform or setup required.
This guide explains what TradFi Perpetuals are, how to find them in the Bybit App's new TradFi section and how to place your first trade.
Key takeaways
TradFi Perpetuals are Bybit-native perpetual contracts on traditional assets — gold, silver, crude oil, major stocks and more. They trade 24/7 with no expiry date.
No separate account is needed. TradFi Perpetuals use your existing Unified Trading Account (UTA) and USDT balance, unlike CFDs, which require a dedicated MT5 CFD Account.
Access them via the TradFi tab in the Bybit App's bottom navigation bar, then select the Futures sub-tab. On the web, hover over TradFi in the top navigation and select Futures.
What are TradFi Perpetuals?
TradFi Perpetuals are perpetual derivative contracts on traditional financial assets. They use the same mechanics as Bybit's crypto perpetuals — no expiry, USDT margin, funding rates, long or short — applied to assets such as gold (XAUUSDT), silver (XAGUSDT), crude oil, forex and major US-listed stocks.
Because they run on Bybit's native trading infrastructure, TradFi Perpetuals share the same margin framework, order types and interface as crypto perpetuals. If you already trade BTCUSDT or ETHUSDT on Bybit, trading XAUUSDT or TSLAUSDT works the same way.
TradFi Perpetuals vs. CFD: Both products sit inside the TradFi section, but they are separate. CFD requires a dedicated MT5 CFD Account and offers 500+ instruments with up to 500× leverage on forex. TradFi Perpetuals require no extra account, use your UTA, offer 200+ assets, and trade 24/7.

TradFi risk disclosure accepted: First-time TradFi users must accept the risk disclosure on first access. This is a one-time step.
Metals agreement XAUUSDT, XAGUSDT and similar): An additional metals risk agreement is required before trading gold or silver perpetuals. This is separate from the standard TradFi disclosure.
Geo-restriction check: TradFi Perpetuals are unavailable in certain regions. Check Bybit's Terms and Conditions for your jurisdiction.
How to find TradFi Perpetuals on Bybit
On the Bybit App
TradFi has its own dedicated tab in the Bybit App's bottom navigation bar.
1. Tap TradFi in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Select the Futures sub-tab. Tap on the trading pair to find TradFi Perpetuals under the futures tab. Open the trading screen.
3. This is the TradFi Perpetuals section — Bybit-native contracts on traditional assets.
4. Browse available pairs. Use the search bar or scroll through the instrument list to find contracts such as XAUUSDT, TSLAUSDT, GOOGLUSDT or stock perpetuals.
Note: You can also access TradFi Perpetuals from the Trade page. Tap Trade in the bottom navigation, then select the TradFi tab in the horizontal category bar (alongside Favorite, Crypto and Alpha).
On the Bybit website
TradFi appears in the top navigation bar on the Bybit website.
Hover over TradFi in the top navigation bar.
Select Futures from the dropdown. This opens the TradFi Perpetuals trading interface.
Use the symbol selector to find your preferred contract.
How to place your first trade
The steps below follow the Bybit App flow. The web interface follows the same logic — select your contract, set your parameters and confirm the order.
Fund your UTA: Ensure your Unified Trading Account holds enough USDT to cover the initial margin for your intended position size.
Select a contract: Tap the symbol name at the top of the screen to open the contract selector. Choose from commodities (XAUUSDT, XAGUSDT), stocks (TSLAUSDT, GOOGLUSDT), indices (SPXUSDT) or other perpetuals.
Choose your direction: Tap Long if you expect the price to rise, or Short if you expect it to fall.
Set leverage. Tap the leverage indicator and adjust using the slider or type in your preferred level. TradFi Perpetuals use a dynamic risk-limit model — available leverage scales with position size.
Choose order type: Select Market (executes immediately at the current price), Limit (executes at your specified price or better) or Conditional (triggers when a price condition is met).
Enter your order size: Input the quantity in contracts or the USDT value of the position. The estimated margin required and liquidation price will update automatically.
Set take-profit and stop-loss (optional but recommended): Tap TP/SL to set target exit levels. This helps manage risk without needing to monitor the position continuously.
Confirm the order. Review all parameters — direction, size, leverage, estimated liquidation price — then tap Long or Short to submit.
Managing your position
Open positions appear in the Positions tab at the bottom of the trading screen. From here, you can:
Monitor unrealized P&L in real time as the mark price moves against your entry.
Adjust TP/SL at any time after opening — tap the position row and select Modify.
Track the funding rate. The funding rate and next payment countdown are visible in the position details. TradFi Perpetuals use the same funding mechanism as crypto perpetuals — payments are charged or credited every few hours depending on your direction and the prevailing rate.
Close partially or fully. Tap Close on the position row. Enter a partial quantity to reduce exposure, or close the full size to exit entirely. Positions close at the current market price unless you set a limit close price.
What are the risks?
TradFi Perpetuals are leveraged instruments. The following risks apply to every position.
Leverage amplifies losses: A 5% adverse move at 20x leverage results in 100% margin loss and full liquidation. Always know your liquidation price before entering.
Funding rate accumulation: The funding rate accrues at regular intervals for as long as a position is open. In an unfavorable rate environment, holding a position over a weekend or holiday adds multiple funding intervals and erodes margin over time.
Gap risk at market open: Although TradFi Perpetuals trade 24/7, the underlying market has scheduled sessions. A price gap when the underlying market opens — from overnight news or an earnings release — can push through a stop-loss before it executes.
Reduced liquidity outside market hours: Spreads may widen and execution quality may decline when the underlying market is closed.
No asset ownership: TradFi Perpetuals confer no ownership of the underlying asset. There are no dividends, no voting rights and no physical delivery of commodities.
Disclaimer: Leveraged trading carries significant risk. Rapid price movements can result in substantial losses, including the loss of your entire margin. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose. |
The bottom line
TradFi Perpetuals bring traditional markets into Bybit's native trading environment. Gold, crude oil, major equity indices and stocks — accessible 24/7, long or short, with no separate account or platform setup required. If you already trade crypto perpetuals on Bybit, the mechanics are identical.
Open the Bybit App, tap TradFi in the bottom navigation bar, select Futures and start trading traditional markets around the clock.
