General & Account
What is Bybit Odds?
Bybit Odds offers fixed-return contracts. You allocate an amount of USDT to a price outcome; if the outcome is correct at settlement, you receive a pre-displayed fixed return. If incorrect, your allocated amount is forfeited.
What are the product types available?
Bybit Odds currently offers three product types:
- Up/Down - You allocate on whether the index price of the underlying asset will go up (Up) or down (Down) to the Entry Price at the end of a fixed 5-minute or 15-minute window. Settlement is based on the index price at the exact moment of expiry.
- Price Target - You allocate on whether the index price will be above (Above) or below (Below) a fixed Target Price at expiry. Settlement is based on the Bybit Settlement Price — the arithmetic mean of the index price sampled over 30 minutes before expiry, consistent with Bybit's standard settlement methodology.
- Price Range - You allocate on whether the index price will fall within (In) or outside (Out) a specified price interval defined by a Lower Bound and Upper Bound at expiry. Settlement uses the same method as Price Target.
Which account is used for Bybit Odds?
Bybit Odds uses your Trading Account for both entry and settlement. Your allocated amount is deducted from your Trading Account when your order is matched, and any returns are credited to the same account.
Can I use a Subaccount to Trade?
Yes, just like other trading products, you can use Subaccount to trade Bybit Odds.
Is Bybit Odds available on Demo Trading?
No, Bybit Odds is not available on Demo Trading.
Can I borrow USDT to trade if I do not have sufficient USDT in my account but hold other assets?
Yes. Under Cross Margin (CM) or Portfolio Margin (PM) mode, if the assets you hold are supported as collateral, the system can automatically borrow USDT based on your available collateral value to complete the trade.
Please note that automatic borrowing increases the Initial Margin (IM) and Maintenance Margin (MM) requirements of your Unified Trading Account (UTA), which may increase the risk of liquidation. Please monitor your account margin closely and manage your borrowing and positions carefully.
Trading Related
Who is the counterpart to my trade?
Your trade is matched against quotes provided by institutional market makers. The platform facilitates the matching and handles settlement.
What is the Entry Price?
Entry Price is the index price of the underlying asset at the exact moment your order is matched. It is not the price shown on the order screen — the screen displays a live reference price for your information. The final Entry Price is locked at the time of matching and used as the baseline for Up/Down settlement.
What is the Index Price?
The Index Price is a weighted average of spot prices from multiple major exchanges. It is designed to be resistant to manipulation on any single venue.
What are the fees involved?
Bybit Odds charges a small taker fee on every filled order. Fees are deducted from your Trading Account at the time of execution, separately from your Fill Value. Only takers pay fees; makers are never charged.
Formula:
Taker Fee = Fill Value × Fee Rate × (1 - 1 / Payout Ratio)
Where:
- Fill Value = the amount allocated (in USDT)
- Fee Rate = 0.045 or 0.06 depending on product type
- Payout Ratio = the payout multiplier shown on the contract (e.g., 1.90 means you receive 1.90× if you win)
How is the Payout Ratio determined?
The Payout Ratio is the return rate you receive on your allocated amount if the outcome is correct. It is quoted by institutional market makers and reflects current market conditions — including the underlying asset's volatility, the time remaining to expiry, and the distance between the current price and the target level. The platform applies a minimum floor to all quotes to ensure the rate offered is fair relative to market conditions.
What does the win probability shown on the page mean?
The win probability is an estimated likelihood of the selected outcome based on current market conditions. It is for reference only and does not guarantee any particular outcome.
What are the minimum and maximum contract amounts?
The minimum amount is 5 USDT, and the maximum is 500 USDT per contract, in 1 USDT increments. These are the initial values at product launch and may be adjusted by the platform over time.
What happens if there is not enough liquidity to fill my order at once?
If no single market maker has sufficient capacity to fill your entire order, it may be matched across multiple quotes. A weighted average return rate is applied across all matched portions, and you will see a single position in your account. Your Order ID remains the same throughout.
Is there a limit on how much I can hold at one time?
Yes. Across all product types combined, your total open positions are subject to a maximum value and a maximum number of contracts. Orders that exceed either limit will be rejected. These limits are set by the platform and may be adjusted over time.
When does my contract settle?
Up/Down: Each contract has its own countdown timer from the moment of matching. Settlement occurs at the end of your 5-minute or 15-minute window.
Price Target / Price Range: All contracts on the same product settle at 08:00 UTC on the expiry date.
How is the settlement price determined?
Up/Down: The live index price at the exact moment your contract expires.
Price Target / Price Range: The Bybit Settlement Price — the arithmetic mean of the index price sampled every second over 30 minutes prior to expiry, consistent with Bybit's standard settlement methodology.
What happens if the settlement price lands exactly on the boundary?
An exact hit on the boundary results in a draw. In all draw cases, your allocated amount is forfeited.
What do I receive if my outcome is correct?
Your potential return is credited to your Trading Account. The amount will match what was displayed when you placed the contract; minor differences of a fraction of a USDT may occur due to rounding.
What happens if my outcome is incorrect?
Your allocated amount is forfeited. No additional charges apply.
Can I trade via API?
No, we do not support Bybit Odds Trading via API at this moment.
Risk
Can I lose my entire allocated amount?
Yes. Each contract has exactly two outcomes, win or loss (including draw). If your selected outcome is incorrect, or the contract results in a draw, your full allocated amount is forfeited — there is no partial recovery.
You should also be aware of the following risks:
- Market volatility: Settlement is based on the underlying asset's index price, which can move sharply and unpredictably. Short expiry windows such as 5 minutes can amplify the effect of sudden price moves.
- Index price: The settlement price is derived from an index across multiple external exchanges. In rare cases of data feed disruptions or extreme market conditions, the index price may differ from the price available on any single exchange.
Can trading be suspended?
Yes. In the event of extreme market volatility, abnormal price feed behavior, or suspected price manipulation, the platform may temporarily suspend new orders. Existing open contracts are not affected and will settle normally at their scheduled time.
