A Guide to Master Trader Levels and Leaderboard Rankings

As a Classic Master Trader on Bybit, two systems drive your progression: Levels and Leaderboards. The level system, with tiers from Cadet to Gold, reflects your overall standing as a trader, helping you unlock perks like higher Follower caps and VIP upgrades as you meet performance and activity requirements. The leaderboards determine your visibility on the Copy Trading Classic homepage across categories like Top Balanced Traders, Top by ROI, and Lowest Drawdown.

These systems are interconnected. Improving your trading metrics can advance your level and boost your leaderboard placement, giving you better visibility to potential Followers.

Notes:

Levels and Leaderboards apply to Copy Trading Classic and Copy Trading TradFi only.
Perks and criteria may differ between Classic and TradFi. Refer to the respective product pages for details.

Complete New Trader Missions

To be eligible for level upgrades and leaderboard listings, you must first complete the mandatory New Master Trader missions in the Mission Center after creating a Master Trader account. This ensures your profile appears on the Copy Trading Recommendation page.

Select Go to Trader Center to enter the Mission Center and complete all New Trader Missions:

Learn the Rules: Read the Bybit Copy Trading Master Trader Agreement.
Transfer to Master Trader Account: Transfer at least 100 USDT from any account within your Main Account to your Master Trader Account.
Initiate Your First Trade: Open your first position using your Master Trader Account.

It may take 2–3 business days for your profile to appear on the Bybit Copy Trading Recommendation page after completing these missions.

Tip: Missions are updated periodically. Limited-time missions may appear at random.

Master Trader Level System

After you complete all mandatory missions in the Mission Center, your profile appears on the Copy Trading Recommendation page with a tier badge. All Master Traders are ranked in four tiers: Cadet, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Key rules:

— Once you meet the criteria for a level, you will be upgraded to that tier and qualify for its benefits. If you meet the requirements for a higher level, you can advance directly without progressing through each tier one by one.

— The Follower cap will only increase when your current cap is full. Increases are in blocks of 100 for Silver traders and 200 for Gold traders.

— If you are not an existing Bybit VIP, you will be upgraded to VIP 1 when you qualify for the upgrade benefits. If you are already a Bybit VIP, you will receive a VIP-level upgrade.

Master Trader Level Evaluation

After you complete the required missions and pass Bybit’s review, you will be assigned a rating based on your account balance, 30-day cumulative profit, and maximum drawdown in the last 7 days.

Evaluation period: 12AM UTC on Saturday to 11:59:59PM UTC on Friday

— Level upgrade evaluation: Conducted weekly. The upgrade takes effect on Saturday between 4:30AM and 5AM UTC.

— Level downgrade evaluation: Conducted on a weekly basis. The downgrade takes effect on Saturday between 4:30AM and 5AM UTC.

Example

Trader A’s level changes as follows:

Week 1: Cadet

Week 2: Upgraded to Silver

Week 3: Does not meet the Silver criteria but will not be downgraded. Trader A will receive a reminder email on the following Saturday.

Week 4: One of the following situations will occur:

Meets the Silver criteria: Trader A retains The Silver rating.
Does not meet the Silver criteria: Trader A will be automatically downgraded from Silver to the corresponding level. Note that a trader may drop more than one level at a time.

If you do not meet the requirements for your current level, a downgrade will be triggered. Additionally, if you have not made any trades in the last 14 days, an automatic downgrade will occur.

Leaderboard Categories and Criteria

Bybit uses a two-stage evaluation process to feature profiles on the leaderboard of the Copy Trading Classic homepage:

1. Recall Stage: In this stage, extensive data analysis is conducted to filter and identify Master Traders who meet the minimum requirements for each leaderboard category. This stage aims to capture as many eligible Master Traders as possible to ensure no relevant profiles are missed.

2. Ranking Stage: Building upon the results from the recall stage, additional scoring criteria are applied to rank the candidates. The goal is to place the most relevant Master Traders at the top of the leaderboard.

The leaderboard data for Copy Trading Classic is updated daily at 2AM UTC. To be featured on the Leaderboard, you must meet the criteria listed below and complete all mandatory Master Trader missions in the Mission Center. For details on each Master Trader indicator, please click here.
